How To Celebrate Disney’s 100th Anniversary At EPCOT
The Walt Disney Company is turning 100 this year!
Currently, Guests visiting Disneyland in California can celebrate this milestone as the Parks brought two all-new nighttime spectaculars “World of Color – ONE” and “Wondrous Journeys” to Disneyland, as well as the new attraction Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
But soon, Guests visiting Walt Disney World in Florida will also be able to celebrate as EPCOT — one of the four theme parks in Orlando — will also host many festivities.
New Photo Opportunities Coming To EPCOT
For starters, Guests visiting EPCOT will soon be able to snap photos with one-of-a-kind Disney 100-themed backdrops, including a brand-new Platinum Mickey Mouse statue.
Disney Parks shared, “You’ll be able to snap a photo with a new platinum Mickey Mouse sculpture in World Celebration with Spaceship Earth in the background. And don’t forget about the dazzling Disney100 Magic Shots and PhotoPass offerings currently available across Walt Disney World.”
But that’s not all because there will also be a new mural at World Celebration in EPCOT, filled with 100 different Disney characters from over the years! This unique backdrop is perfect for capturing your Disney memories.
Disney shared, “Be sure to check out the all-new mural at the heart of World Celebration to see how many of the 100 Disney characters you can find in the incredible scene. This expansive mural located along the walkway to World Showcase will feature some of your favorite characters hidden throughout the various neighborhoods of EPCOT. The rest of World Celebration will also be decked out in Disney100 platinum banners and décor.”
Meet Mickey and Minnie
In addition to the unique photo opportunities, Mickey and Minnie Mouse will soon meet Guests in their 100th anniversary outfits!
Over in the Imagination! Pavilion, Mickey and Minnie will be waiting to sign autographs and give hugs as they wear their Platinum Disney 100th outfits. Disney reported, “Mark your calendars because you’ll be able to meet, hug and snap a photo with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their platinum best in the Imagination! pavilion.”
New Spaceship Earth Show
Guests can end their evening by watching a brand-new light show on Spaceship Earth, set to the iconic song “When You Wish Upon a Star”. Per Disney, “Spaceship Earth will light up each night with special colors and lights accompanied by the Disney100 anthem, a unique rendition of ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’.”
EPCOT Festivals
Every year, Walt Disney World hosts its annual EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, which showcases food and drinks from all around the world and is extremely popular amongst Guests. This year, from July 27 to November 18, 2023, Guests visiting EPCOT can visit the Global Marketplaces as they taste their way around the world.
And during the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, they will debut limited-time food and beverage offerings themed specifically to the Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary! New items will also be available at the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, which will debut later this year.
They reported, “Sip and savor the tastes of the Disney100 celebration with limited-time food & beverage locations during both the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival and the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays!”
These new offerings will debut at EPCOT starting September 22.
