Moises Caicedo ‘only wants to join Chelsea’ as Liverpool’s £111m bid throw into turmoil

Moises Caicedo has reportedly rejected a move to Liverpool – telling the Reds he only wants to join Chelsea.

Liverpool have agreed a British record transfer fee in the region of £111million for Caicedo as Jurgen Klopp attempts to reinforce his midfield for the new Premier League season.

However, it seems Caicedo remains determined to force through a move to Stamford Bridge, having already agreed personal terms with the Blues, who are set to increase their bid for the player having had several offers rejected.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported: "Moisés Caicedo has just informed Liverpool that he only wants to join Chelsea! Caicedo has decided to keep his word and only accept Chelsea as personal terms were agreed since end of May. Chelsea, set to bid again in order to get deal done with Brighton."

Ahead of Sunday’s trip to Chelsea for both sides’ Premier League opener, Klopp confirmed a deal with Brighton had been agreed, but was still cautious about whether the transfer would be completed.

“I can confirm the deal with [Brighton] is agreed, whatever that means because we want the player and not any kind of agreement, we will see," he said.
