Drinking wine can be a difficult hobby to master.

From attempting to ace the often complicated French pronunciations to know which wine to pair with certain food.

If you're not clued up on wine, you can feel like an amateur – even if you're well versed with booze.

But the experts over at new wine brand JOY spilled all on how to enjoy wine without the faff.

Whether you want to ace the perfect pour or impress with your glass selection, then wine expert Claire Raine can help put your mind at ease.

We spoke with Claire who first told us that one particular measurement will make for the best serving of wine.

"We would generally recommend 175ml as a serving," said the wine expert.

    There's a selection for starters, diner and desserts – then a whole other selection for the colour of the wine.

    It can all be a bit overwhelming at times.

    Although you might want to impress the family or friends when you host a dinner party, the expert from JOY admitted that not enforcing the glass rules will go down a treat.

    But, if you're fancying adding a bit of pizzazz to your wine then using a larger bowl glass is preferable.

    "At JOY we’re keen not to enforce the rules including which wines are best in which glasses – as far as we’re concerned if you enjoy it, that’s good enough," Claire urged.

    "For our ready to drink Orange Spritz though we would suggest using a larger bowl glass to allow enough room for ice and a slice of orange to enjoy at its best.

    "It’s like having a sunny vacation in a glass, with the tangy sweetness of oranges keeping things fresh and flirty."

    So what's the biggest mistake wine drinkers make?

    Well, according to wine buff Claire, putting pressure on yourself is the biggest mishap.

    If you're spending more time worrying over your grape knowledge rather than enjoying the wine, then you're doing it all wrong.

    In regards to the 'biggest' mistake, Claire said: "Thinking that they have to know about the grapes, the origin and the right tasting notes to be able to enjoy it!"
