Obi-Wan Kenobi Kills Morbius in Bizarre Star Wars & Marvel Crossover Video

Obi-Wan Kenobi kills Morbius in a bizarre fan-made mash-up video. 2022 finally saw the arrival of Jared Leto’s long-awaited comic book movie Morbius. Unfortunately the film not only flopped once but twice, when Sony strangely decided to put the movie back in theaters weeks after it bombed in initial release.

Sony’s decision to rerelease Morbius was of course prompted by a sudden surge in internet memes making fun of the Leto-led Marvel movie disaster. Leto himself actually got in on this Morbius meme fun, playing along with a Power Rangers-inspired “Morbin’ Time” joke by posting his own humorous video in which he was seen reading a script for Morbius 2. Unfortunately both Leto and Sony seemed to miss the important point that all this Morbius joking is not secretly affectionate but genuinely vicious.

Indeed vicious Morbius mockery continues to dominate the internet, as proven by a relatively new fan-made video that actually ends with Leto’s character being brutally murdered. For added fun, it’s Obi-Wan Kenobi himself doing the murdering. Posted by yo chill bruh, the clever video purports to be leaked footage of a mysterious Obi-Wan/Morbius crossover film in which audiences react to the sight of Leto’s Michael Morbius doing battle with Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan. Yo chill bruh’s video at first just seems like an absurd crossover featuring two characters from movies that have received a lot of hate on the internet. But in its final moments, it reveals itself to really be an angry anti-Morbius joke, as a seemingly defeated Obi-Wan uses the Force to get a blaster and wins the match by shooting Morbius through the head, tossing the weapon away in disgust with the utterance “so uncivilized” (the moment is of course taken from Revenge of the Sith). Obi-Wan then looks over the dead Morbius while the video’s fake audience sits in stunned silence.

Of course as previously stated, the Star Wars prequels featuring McGregor’s Obi-Wan have like Morbius been targeted by a lot of internet haters. But over the years an affectionate fanbase has emerged for the prequels and they are now seen in many circles as underappreciated movies that deserve reassessment. It remains to be seen if Morbius itself will, after years have passed, develop its own following and come up for reappraisal. But a few internet memes posted weeks after the movie bombed are certainly not evidence that such a reappraisal is happening, as Sony should have realized before going ahead with their ill-fated Morbius rerelease.
