It seems like Barbie mania has been everywhere since the new Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling film was released – with it influencing the likes of fashion and home decor trends.

And now it's affecting the beauty industry too, with 'Barbie Botox' currently taking over TikTok.

'Barbie Botox is the latest cosmetic treatment to go viral – with the hashtag alone garnering 7million views and counting.

Named after the iconic doll for its ability to create a slender neckline, ‘Barbie Botox’ a.k.a. ‘Trap Tox’ involves “injecting Botox into the top of the trapezius muscle, which is the large muscle that starts at the base of your neck and extends across your shoulders to the middle of your back” according to expert, Alice Henshaw.

"Interest is also down to the growing number of people seeking to achieve a more sculpted neck and jawline, which has been seen all over TikTok with trends like gua sha facial massage, garnering millions of views.

"It’s also been coined ‘Barbie Botox’ due to the slimming effect on the shoulders and elongation of the neck, and the movie’s success has definitely helped it to gain popularity."

Despite getting the treatment and 'vouching for it' herself, Alices gave a warning about the treatment.
