Kim Kardashian Is Being Praised For Shutting Down Kendall Jenner’s “Disrespectful” Reaction To Kourtney Kardashian And Travis Barker’s Engagement

When Keeping Up With the Kardashians first launched in 2007, there was just one sister’s romantic relationship that dominated the show.
Ethan Miller / Getty ImagesBut despite Scott being so established within Kourtney’s inner circle, their relationship was incredibly tumultuous and blighted by Scott’s drug and alcohol use, as well as him cheating on her.
E!After almost 10 years, Kourtney ended things for good in 2015 after she gave him one last chance to improve his behavior, to no avail.
E!Following the split, the pair remained amicable and were able to establish a healthy co-parenting relationship for their children. Kourtney’s family also continued to embrace Scott as one of their own, and he remained on their reality show.

HuluAnd now the behind-the-scenes aftermath of the proposal has been revealed in Kourtney and company’s new Hulu reality series, The Kardashians.

HuluIn fact, Kourtney was seen fighting back tears after her daughter, Penelope, sobbed on the phone when she learned about the proposal. Kourtney also went on to criticize her mom Kris Jenner’s decision to not include her children at the surprise celebration party.
HuluUnbeknownst to Kourtney, her entire family and Travis’s children were waiting for them in their Santa Barbara hotel suite after she said “yes.”
HuluKris told Kourtney’s sisters, Kim and Khloé Kardashian, that she thought Kourtney’s children were too young to attend as it was on a Sunday evening. Penelope had also been unwell, and Kris believed it would have been hard to explain to Scott why he couldn’t have the kids that day.
HuluKim followed Kourtney and was trying to comfort her when the rest of their sisters joined them, and Kendall Jenner’s behavior in the emotional scene has sparked fierce backlash online.
HuluWhile Kourtney tried to get hold of her oldest child, Mason, Kendall asked Khloé what Scott had said to her about the engagement after she revealed that he’d already heard about it.
instagram.comWhispering as they sat just inches away from Kourtney, Khloé relayed to Kendall that Scott had said, “You guys are gonna kick me out now. I’m not involved in the family.” Khloé also said that Scott had asked why his kids weren’t there and he was told that it was because “they were too young.”
HuluAfter Kourtney said that she did, Kendall snapped: “Because it doesn’t feel like you do, just as an outsider.”
HuluKim then pointed out: “He’s also had five, six years to get over this.” But Kendall argued: “Of course, but it’s always going to sting.”
HuluKim went on to defend her older sister as she told the rest of the group: “Guys, are we so fucking crazy that we are talking about it [now]? Can we talk about this tomorrow and let them enjoy their night out there?”
HuluSpeaking in a confessional, Kourtney said of the situation: “I’m sensitive to [Scott] and his feelings and I communicate with him about the kids and I make sure that he’s good, but beyond that I just got engaged and I want to be happy and be in the moment, and I just don’t think that this moment is about Scott.”
HuluAnd this was a sentiment that the majority of viewers agreed with, with many fans taking to social media to criticize Kendall’s “attitude” toward her sister on such a special night.
HuluWriting on a Reddit forum, one person said: “This was so wrong of Kendall. Kourtney was with Scott for almost ten years, and he was the one who destroyed their relationship. He cries and wails over Kourtney but doesn’t give up drugs/alcohol to get her back. Kourtney and Scott agreed that they would get back together if he cleaned up his lifestyle, and he still refused. So after 15 or so years, [Kourtney] moved on. Scott will always be family, but he is the one who ruined that relationship.”

HuluHowever, he then expressed his “relief” that “somebody else is taking care of her,” and described Kourtney as being “a lot of work” to put up with.
E!He said to Khloé: “I kind of in a selfish way feel like a lot has been kinda lifted off of me. I think in the end it’s kind of a good thing. I couldn’t do the job of being with her. So I salute Travis. Like, he’s in for a lot of work, Kourtney is not the simplest when it comes to… Everything.”
instagram.comWhile Scott is visibly struggling with Kourtney moving on, Kourtney is noticeably happier than ever in her new relationship and fans have expressed their joy at seeing such a huge, positive shift in her in recent months.
HuluOne person summarized: “How Kourtney has been acting with Travis is so unlike anything I’ve ever seen from her. It’s almost uncomfortable looking back at old scenes because she was clearly very angry and bitter because of Scott. Now she’s happy, fun, and smiling. That’s an upgrade.”
