Radio host: Jets QB Aaron Rodgers will ‘love’ New York media
Former WFAN radio host and current CBS Sports Radio personality Maggie Gray believes new New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers will have a lovely relationship with local media members.
“He’ll be fine,” Gray said of Rodgers’ interactions with the New York press during an appearance on the “Awful Announcing” podcast, per Awful Announcing’s Chris Novak. “He is gonna be. He’s gonna love this too because he’s gonna get a lot of attention, and I think he likes having the attention.”
In recent years, Rodgers has not been shy about feuding with reporters who have been responsible for what he has called “nothing-burger” articles and “horse—-” stories. He has also blasted NFL insiders who are not part of his “inner circle.”
Some area personalities, such as New York Giants legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Strahan, have suggested Rodgers won’t love living and working in such a massive media market after he spent nearly two decades in Green Bay. Gray, originally from upstate New York, is not too worried.
“I think most of that concern is coming from outside of New York,” Gray explained. “Because I do think, like you said, he is so open and honest, and that’s something that the New York media appreciates.”
Rodgers has already done well to embrace serving as the face of a New York football franchise. He has routinely been spotted at Madison Square Garden for New York Rangers and New York Knicks home playoff games since being traded over to the Jets and notched some easy “one of us/gets us” points thanks to social media:

The four-time NFL Most Valuable Player has not yet had to answer difficult questions after disappointing losses, nor has he had to address rumors and/or reports about his supposed unhappiness with any Jets-related situation.
Rodgers may “love” the attention he is receiving of late because most of it is positive, even from individuals who cover the New York Giants (rather than the Jets). Honeymoons don’t last forever, though, and he will find that things can quickly change if Gang Green fails to rise to the top of the AFC East.
