Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has seen his three-game ban overturned following a successful appeal.

Mac Allister received a straight red card for a tackle on Ryan Christie during the second half of Liverpool’s 3-1 victory at Anfield on Saturday (August 19).

A statement from Liverpool read: “Alexis Mac Allister will not serve a suspension after a successful appeal against the red card he received during Saturday’s victory over AFC Bournemouth.

“A club appeal against the suspension has now been upheld by an Independent Regulatory Commission, meaning Mac Allister is eligible for selection when the Reds travel to Newcastle United on Sunday.”
