Patrick Mahomes’ pre-season claim will worry rival NFL fans ahead of new season

Patrick Mahomes has remained untouched in his first pre-season games ahead of the beginning of the NFL season.

The reigning MVP is entering his seventh season in the NFL and will be doing so as a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs.

With just over two weeks to go until the new season, the quarterback announced that he's yet to be hit by an opposing player despite playing in two pre-season games.

Despite games against the New Orleans Saints and the Arizona Cardinals, Mahomes came out without a scratch as he heaped praise on his offensive line for protecting him.

The strange thing about this is Mahomes plays to get hit once in pre-season but he hasn't gotten his wish thus far but could still do so with one more game against the Cleveland Browns to come this weekend.

Following Sunday's (August 20) game, the 27-year-old said: "I told my offensive linemen that I play in the preseason to get hit one time, and I literally didn’t get touched these last two games, so they did a great job. It’s a good problem to have."

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid continued the praise for the offensive line which was certainly a place for improvement for the defending Super Bowl champions given the fact that Mahomes was sacked 26 times last season.

“I thought the offensive line did a nice job for him and the receivers," Reid said before adding that: "We had a lot of guys catch the ball, which is positive. I thought all of the offensive line held their own."
