Disney World Announces Showtime Changes For Popular Fireworks Show
As the days begin to grow shorter, Walt Disney World has announced that their beloved fireworks show, “Happily Ever After”, which is shown every night at Magic Kingdom, will move to an earlier time beginning later this month.
“Happily Ever After” Changes Showtime
The beloved fireworks show is currently being performed at 9:20 p.m. every evening at Magic Kingdom, however, beginning on August 9, it will be performed at 9:00 p.m.
Then, beginning on September 18, “Happily Ever After” will start to be performed at 8:30 p.m.
Additionally, due to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, “Happily Ever After” will not be performed on the following evenings:
- August: 11, 15, 18, 22, 25, 29
- September: 1, 4, 8, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29
- October: 1, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29, 31
- November: 1
More On “Happily Ever After”
On October 1, 2021 Magic Kingdom debuted a brand-new fireworks show, “Disney Enchantment”, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. In order to make way for this new nighttime spectacular, Guests had to say goodbye to the fan-favorite show, “Happily Ever After”, which sparkled into Disney history on September 29, 2021.
Due to an uproar from fans, after the 50th anniversary concluded at Walt Disney World, Disney brought back the beloed “Happily Ever after” fireworks show.
Disney describes the fireworks show as “Go on a dazzling journey of color, light and song that captures the heart, humor and heroism of favorite Disney stories. Watch in awe as Cinderella Castle is magically transformed through amazing state-of-the art projection technology you have to see to believe.”
Their website continued, “This astounding fireworks extravaganza uses lights, lasers and special effects, plus a soaring score featuring contemporary versions of beloved Disney songs. Discover the magic of stories—and be inspired to find your own happily ever after.”
Some of the beloved Disney songs fans will hear during “Happily Ever After” include “How Far I’ll Go” from the film “Moana”, “When you Wish Upon a Star” from “Pinocchio”, “Love is an Open Door” from “Frozen”, “Go the Distance” from “Hercules”, and, of course, the show’s theme, “Happily Ever After”. sung by Angie K and Jordan Fisher.
Disneyland’s Beloved Fireworks Show
As part of the 100 Years of Wonder celebration honoring 100 years of The Walt Disney Company, Disneyland Resort debuted a new fireworks show called “Wondrous Journeys.”
The Parks have announced it will perform its last 2023 show this summer.
According to Disney, the final performance of the fireworks show, “Wondrous Journeys,” 2023, will take place on August 31, 2023.
Disneyland Resort debuted “Wondrous Journeys” as part of the 100 Years of Wonder celebration honoring 100 years of The Walt Disney Company. Disney describes the fireworks show as “Gaze in Wonder as Sleeping Beauty Castle and Main Street, U.S.A., become a great canvas for 100 years of Walt Disney Animation Studios storytelling. Thrill as talented artists transform empty pages brimming with possibility into beloved Disney characters and vivid animated worlds awash with magic. All this and more is brought to life by soaring music, stunning state-of-the-art projection technology—and spectacular pyrotechnics on select nights!”
The reason “Wondrous Journeys” is ending is to make way for the Halloween and Christmas fireworks — “Halloween Screams” and “Believe…In Holiday Magic”. These specially themed nighttime spectaculars will be performed in Magic Kingdom until “Wondrous Journeys” returns in early 2024.
