Courtney Stodden celebrates ‘feeling free’ years after leaving ex who married her at 16
Courtney Stodden, 29, is "feeling free" as she rings in the birthday celebrations and honours her "independence".
The Celebrity Big Brother star married actor Doug Hutchison, who was 51 years old when she was 16 – she eventually filed for divorce from Doug in 2018.
Taking to social media on Wednesday (August 30) to celebrity her 29th birthday, the TV personality opened up candidly to fans, telling them how she feels like a "stronger woman"

Reflecting on the past year of her life, Courtney admitted: "Feeling free. 28, I needed you. You pushed me to become a stronger woman.
"Ringing in 29 with fierce independence in my own place, on my own – for the first time in my life."

"I am a really empathetic, sensitive person, and I always have been," they said to Fox News about their divorce,
"But my experience has made me so strong. If it didn't happen, I feel like my whole outlook on life would be so different."
The then 23-year-old continued: "Experiences that are traumatising can either break us or we can utilise them to shape us into a stronger individual. And that's really one of the main reasons why I'm speaking out is because I want past victims and survivors to really tap into that part of themselves. We are so strong. It's just really made me very fearless. [sic]"
Courtney, who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, was recently engaged to filmmaker Chris Sheng, but the two broke up last month.
A representative for Courtney Page Six: "Courtney is now a singlethem. They are looking forward to telling her story."
Chris and Courtney both deleted their engagement posts on Instagram. But Courtney's post was captioned: "I said yes … OH and the ring made me gag it's so beautiful."
