1. Dominic Fike shared that he almost got fired from Euphoria because of his drug use on set. “I was so fucked up during a lot of that show. It was really bad,” he told Zane Lowe.

She told the New York Times, “I’d come to work that morning, and I was shaking, so scared, like, ‘I can’t do this.’” So, even though it was 9 a.m., a crew member hooked her up with some tequila. “I did three shots and then took my clothes off and did the scene, and I was fine. It really helped stop my hands shaking, and gave me a little boost of confidence.”

4. Joey King got “violently high” on the last day of filming The Kissing Booth trilogy, after taking an edible from her costar Taylor Zakhar Perez.

“You know when you’re really high, all you know how to say is ‘I’m so high?’ That’s where I was at,” she said, adding that the choice was “very unprofessional” on her part.

5. Drake revealed that he had gotten high right before his audition for Degrassi: The Next Generation, and added that he did it because he succumbed to peer pressure.

“Before my audition, I went to this kid’s house. Out of a desire to be accepted, I would succumb to peer pressure, and I got high with these kids right before my audition,” he said. “I kind of wonder…maybe I’m still high, maybe I’m in some coma, and this is just me playing out my ideal life. That concept has stuck with me for a lot of years.”

6. Anna Kendrick shared that during a scene in Drinking Buddies, she didn’t realize she was given real beer to drink until she was “super drunk.”

She said, “During a scene at the bar, they gave me fake beer, but then, during a scene where I’m playing cards with Jake [Johnson], they gave me real beer, and I didn’t realize it! And so every time I lost, I was pounding beer, and I didn’t realize it was real until halfway through the take. I was like, ‘I’m super drunk right now!’ And so, as soon as the take was over, I had to announce to everybody that I was drunk at work. I was horrified by the idea that I was going to be the next troublesome star who got drunk and started flipping over tables or whatever. I just tried to sit quietly until I sobered up.”

7. Martin Sheen said that he was “dangerously drunk” while filming Apocalypse Now that he “could hardly stand up.”

He shot his infamous scene on the same day of his 36th birthday, having been drinking with friends before it was time to film. He added that when director Francis Ford Coppola asked him to go up to the mirror, he didn’t realize how close he really was, struck the glass, and actually cut his hand open. He said, “I was so intoxicated, I didn’t realize how close to the mirror I was.” 

8. Carrie Fisher revealed that she did cocaine on the set of Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back.

“We did cocaine on the set of Empire, in the ice planet,” she said. “I didn’t even like coke that much. It was just a case of getting on whatever train I needed to take to get high.”

9. Jennifer Lawrence said she got “really, really drunk” to prepare for a sex scene with Chris Pratt in Passengers, but then, her drinking led to even more anxiety about the scene.

She explained, “I got really, really drunk. But then, that led to more anxiety when I got home because I was like, ‘What have I done? I don’t know.’ And he was married. And it was going to be my first time kissing a married man, and guilt is the worst feeling in your stomach. And I knew it was my job, but I couldn’t tell my stomach that. So, I called my mom, and I was like, ‘Will you just tell me it’s OK?’ It was just very vulnerable.  And you don’t know what’s too much. You want to do it real, you want everything to be real, but then… That was the most vulnerable I’ve ever been.”

10. Billy Bob Thornton has revealed that he’s been drunk on set a few times, and several more times hungover. One time, in particular, was for a scene in Bad Santa when his character had a meltdown. “I do have a method actor aspect to myself,” he said.

He added, “I drank about three glasses of red wine for breakfast… Then I switched over to vodka and cranberry juice, and then I had a few Bud Lights. By the time I got to that scene there, I barely knew I was in a movie.”

11. Daniel Radcliffe said that while he never drank alcohol on the Harry Potter set, there are some scenes that he filmed while he was “still drunk” from the night before.

“I can honestly say I never drank at work on Harry Potter,” he said. ”I went into work still drunk, but I never drank at work. I can point to many scenes where I’m just gone. Dead behind the eyes.” He ultimately gave up alcohol in 2010 and added, “Ultimately, it was my own decision. Like, I woke up one morning after a night going like, ‘This is probably not good.’”

12. Cate Blanchett actually got drunk with Sarah Paulson while filming a car scene in the movie Carol. Sarah even joked that she was “slightly more [drunk]” than Cate was.

Cate explained, “We were having a martini together in a bar, and the wonderful props guy said: ‘Do you want to go hot?’ So, we went hot — and what we learned was that the alcohol would be real alcohol.”

13. John Leguizamo “drank a lot between takes” on Super Mario Brothers because he and his cast-mates “were all miserable.”

In the scene they were filming, John had to drive a car. After breaking too hard, the car’s door came “flying out” and smashed Bob Hoskins’s hand. 

14. Finally, Robert Pattinson shared that any time in The Lighthouse when his character was drunk, he was “basically unconscious the whole time” in real life, too.

“It was crazy. I spent so much time making myself throw up. Pissing my pants. It’s the most revolting thing. I don’t know, maybe it’s really annoying,” he said. “There’s a scene where Willem [Dafoe]’s kind of sleeping on me, and we’re really, really drunk, and I felt like we’re completely lost in the scene, and I’m sitting there trying to make myself gag, and Robert [Eggers] told me off because Willem’s looking at him going: ‘If he throws up on me, I’m leaving the set.’ I had absolutely no idea this whole drama was unfolding.”
