Now, with exams, a school trip to Paris, and prom on the horizon, the gang has got a lot to juggle as they learn to balance their own love lives with being plain ol’ high schoolers. Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke) will learn how to navigate their new relationship now that they’re both out. Meanwhile, Tara (Corinna Brown) and Darcy (Kizzy Edgell) will face unforeseen challenges, and Tao (William Gao) and Elle (Yasmin Finney) finally work out if they can ever be more than just friends.

But of course, things go awry when Disney has finally decided to make High School Musical 4: The Reunion and film it at their school — meaning a TON of the original cast will be back to bask in the East High glory. Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel, Monique Coleman, Kaycee Stroh, Bart Johnson, and Alyson Reed are among the original HSM cast to join the series this season.

After making it back to Okern, Elora (Devery Jacobs) considers the idea of college, Bear (D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai) comes across a conspiracy theorist named “Maximus” (Graham Greene), Willie Jack (Paulina Alexis) becomes more invested in healing her community, and Cheese (Lane Factor) is still living with his grandmother who’s not his grandmother. Meanwhile, the aunties, uncles, and elders explore their pasts and try to heal old wounds.
