Ken Jennings Will Appear On A Game Show… And It’s Not ‘Jeopardy!’

Plenty of “Jeopardy!” fans are eager to see Ken Jennings become the next host of the show after the late Alex Trebek.

Ken has a lot of supporters in his corner and is considered by many to be “Jeopardy!” family. After all, he still holds the #1 win streak for most games won with a staggering 74-game winning streak that he set back in 2004. The second-place win streak was set by Amy Schneider last January. She only won 40 games before she admitted that fatigue was starting in.

Considering that Ken stepped back from his commitments to NBC’s “The Chase,” fans thought that he would be announced as the new host of “Jeopardy!” any day now. However, Ken took to Twitter on Friday evening to let fans know that he was going to make his debut on a brand new game show.

Ken Jennings Trades ‘Jeopardy!’ For Pyramid… At Least Temporarily

On Friday evening, Ken tweeted, “I’m aware that I have a very weird and specific bucket list, but this was a biggie: I get to play on the next season of Pyramid!”

He linked to an article from Parade that revealed the line-up for ABC’s “$100,000 Pyramid” season 6. Hosted by Michael Strahan, the sixth season will debut on July 10, 2022.

For fans not familiar with the show, contestants are asked to guess and give out various clues through word associations before time runs out. Two celebrities and their partners are racing against the clock to get to the winner’s circle, where they’ll earn a chance to compete for $100,000 dollars. The show was famously hosted by Dick Clark for fifteen years in the 1970s and 1980s.

The premiere features celebrities Lindsey Vonn, Russell Peters, Jason Alexander, and Wayne Knight. Other notable guests besides Ken include RuPaul, Nicole Byer, Cedric The Entertainer, Rachel Bloom, Rosie O’Donnell, and many more.

Parade also gave a breakdown of who will face off against who. For example, “Holey Moley” fans might be delighted to see Rob Riggle squaring off against Joe Tessitore. For “Jeopardy!” fans, Ken Jennings will be facing off against Ross Mathews. Mathews is also a TV host and personality, who first rose to fame as a correspondent on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and came to be known as “Ross the Intern.”

What Do ‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Think Of His ‘Pyramid’ Run?

Please be sure to point out that it is not actually a pyramid but simply a triangle

Hope one of the categories is “7 Ways That Ken is Better Than James Holzhauer”. Although that might be hard to limit to just 7.

The good news is that Ken’s most likely already taped his episode, so it shouldn’t impact his commitment to “Jeopardy!” in any way. Fans are hoping that Ken is announced as the new host soon, but it’s more likely that an announcement won’t come until the end of July or early August, as the season finishes up.
