Selena Gomez Shares More Details Of Britney Spears’ ‘Beautiful’ Wedding To Sam Asghari
Singer and actress Selena Gomez was one of the guests at singer Britney Spears’s wedding to her fiancé Sam Asghari. During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she dished details from the beautiful and intimate wedding celebration.
Spears had a very intimate wedding celebration with a star-studded guest list. Aside from Gomez, other celebrities that attended include Paris Hilton, Drew Barrymore, Madonna, and Donatella Versace.
At the beautiful wedding reception, Spears, Gomez, and some guests performed some of their biggest hit songs, bringing a bit of nostalgia to the party. Reports also revealed that the reception party went on until around 11:30 pm. Read on to find out more.
Selena Gomez Said It Was A Beautiful Wedding
On Thursday night, Gomez appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” alongside her costars from Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building,” Steve Martin and Martin Short. They were there to discuss the show and its upcoming second season.
During the conversation, Gomez, and host Jimmy Kimmel spoke about Spears’ star-studded wedding and a particular photo from the day that had Gomez, Spears, Barrymore, Hilton, Madonna, and Versace.
Gomez said, “I am really happy for her. It was beautiful.” She also revealed that they shared “finger foods” with the guests during the reception. Kimmel then joked, “A Thursday wedding … doesn’t that usually indicate that the bride and groom are trying to get a discount?” She laughingly replied, “I wouldn’t know.”
A Group Of Them Performed ‘Vogue’
The beautiful wedding ceremony was held on June 9th at Spears’s home in Los Angeles, and Gomez wore a stunning blue strapless jumpsuit. She was also a part of a group of female guests who performed Madonna’s hit song, “Vogue.” The group included Madonna herself, Hilton, Versace, Barrymore, and the bride herself.
In the video posted of their performance, the women danced together with Spears, and at the end, Madonna held a drink up in celebration. The women all looked very happy as they danced and sang.
Some other guests at the wedding included Hilton’s husband, Carter Reum, her mother, Kathy Hilton, actor Ansel Elgort, and singer Will.i.am. Many guests posted photos and videos of the ceremony, and they obviously had fun.
They Partied After The Ceremony
Spears wore a beautiful wedding gown designed by Versace and walked alone down the aisle to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley. According to sources and guest videos, the new couple and their guests then partied the night away until around 11:30 pm, when the celebration finally ended.
At the reception party, Hilton and Spears, who have been friends since they came to the limelight in the early 2000s, both performed Hilton’s 2005 hit song, “Stars are Blind.” Not one to stop after performing just “Stars are Blind” and “Vogue,” Spears also danced with Gomez, Madonna, and her guests to one of her biggest hit songs, “Toxic.”
Britney Spears And Madonna Brought Some Nostalgia
At some point during the party, Spears and Madonna brought a bit of nostalgia by cheekily locking lips. The act was their way of paying homage to their iconic stage kiss at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, although they didn’t complete it with the last person, singer Christina Aguilera, who didn’t attend the wedding.
Back in 2003, their kiss was a crazily popular moment that had fans of all three women going wild. At the time, Spears told CNN, “I didn’t know it was going to be that long and everything. I’ve never kissed a woman before.”
Spears and Madonna have been friends for decades and collaborated on the 2003 hit song “Me Against the Music.” At Spears’s wedding reception, they shared a tight hug to show how much they care for each other. It was obvious to see how much a barefoot Spears was happy to see Madonna, who wore a beautiful rainbow dress.
