Léa Seydoux To Play Lady Margot In Dune: Part 2

With production due to start later this year, the casting news for Dune: Part Two is turning into a sandstorm of activity. The latest new addition to the much-anticipated follow-up is Léa Seydoux, who is working out a deal to play Lady Margot.

To those without a James Dyer-esque extensive knowledge of Dune lore at their fingertips, Lady Margot is married to Count Hasimir Fenring, ruler of his minor house, which is tied to House Corrino and therefore the Emperor. Margot's also a dedicated part of the Bene Gesserit sisterhood, helping to influence bloodlines and, after Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) rises to more power after his union with the Fremen on the planet Arrakis, helps Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) avoid a Harkonnen trap.

And – spoiler alert – when the Bene Gesserit eventually become less influential, Margot and her husband work to keep their own power base strong.

With Chalamet returning from the first movie alongside Ferguson, Zendaya and Josh Brolin, the cast will include fellow newcomers Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken and Austin Butler.

Denis Villeneuve is once again directing (and co-writing with Jon Spaihts) the new film, which is scheduled to arrive on 20 October next year.
