Over the last week, a single question has been burning up certain corners of the internet: Did Kim Kardashian ruin Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress when she wore it to the 2022 Met Gala?

Angela Weiss / AFP via Getty Images“One thing Ripley’s Believe It or Not! can say with confidence is that it did not cause damage to Marilyn Monroe’s famed ‘Happy Birthday’ dress from 1962,” the organization said in a statement that also highlighted reports that the dress was already damaged circa 2017.
