Thor: Love & Thunder Costumes Get Up-Close Looks In New Marvel Video

The Thor: Love and Thunder costumes get close-up looks via a new Marvel video. In about two weeks, the God of Thunder will return to the big screen, with Chris Hemsworth reteaming with director Taika Waititi for the second time in the MCU. After the success of Thor: Ragnarok, Marvel Studios is going bigger for Thor: Love and Thunder with an expanded cast and more ambitious narrative.

On the heels of the Infinity Saga, Marvel Studios laid out their plans for MCU Phase 4 and beyond. Thor: Love and Thunder was one of the first projects confirmed, with both Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson returning for the film. Aside from this, Natalie Portman’s MCU comeback was announced, and subsequently, Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher was revealed to be the villain of the story. Much like every Hollywood project, the Waititi-directed flick was delayed significantly, but after three long years, Thor: Love and Thunder‘s release is almost here and Marvel Studios is celebrating that in a unique way.

Shared on Twitter by Asad Ayaz, Walt Disney Studios’ President of Marketing, a short video of a display over at Marvel Studios features several costumes from Thor: Love and Thunder. The clip offers fans a closer look at Valkyrie, Thor, and Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor’s battle suits for the movie. Finally, it also includes the head prop for one of the God of Thunder’s goats. Thor: Love and Thunder will debut some striking new suits for its core cast, but arguably the most interesting one from this display is Thor’s. The more vibrant color palette is noticeably different from what he has worn before, and it may be indicative of what his frame of mind will be in the movie. It’s worth noting that after his illuminating conversation with Frigga in Avengers: Endgame, the God of Thunder was inspired to find his true calling in life after living for almost 1500 years. Thor’s Love and Thunder costume change could be an indication of how he’s embracing his true self, as well as a visual representation of his mental state as he continues his healing journey after the Infinity Saga.

As Thor: Love and Thunder‘s release nears, expect that Marvel will continue to ramp up their marketing for the movie. The display in itself is currently set up over at Marvel Studios offices, but it’ll be interesting to see if they are planning to bring them out for the movie’s upcoming premiere. That way, attendees and other fans can see these glorious costumes in real life.
