Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” is still riding the wave of newfound success from the 37-year-old song’s use in “Stranger Things!”

The 63-year-old singer, who has historically remained on the private side of the public eye, has been incredibly vocal in sharing her elation over the song’s success.

The Blast recently reported the single had reached new heights on the Billboard charts. “Running Up That Hill” recently rose to the number one spot on the organization’s Global 200 charts!

Shortly after Bush penned a blog post on her website where she describes “Running Up That Hill’s” reception as being “so exciting,” she has returned with a new tribute to “Stranger Things” creators, Matt and Ross Duffer.

In the post, which she titled “On Top of that Hill,” Bush commends the duo on the scale of their work on one of Netflix’s biggest success stories in recent years.

“The Duffer brothers have created four extraordinary series of ‘Stranger Things’ in which the child actors have grown into young adults,” her post begins.

Bush then goes on to applaud the series’ creators for handling the fourth season’s storylines pertaining to mental health with a lot of care and grace.

“In this latest series,” she continues, “the characters are facing many of the same challenges that exist in reality right now. I believe the Duffer Brothers have touched people’s hearts in a special way, in a time that’s incredibly difficult for everyone, especially younger people,” Bush writes.

Having “Running Up That Hill” be used in such a meaningful way is a privilege Bush is grateful for.

“By featuring ‘Running Up That Hill’ in such a positive light- as a talisman for Max (one of the main female characters)- the song has been brought into the emotional arena of her story. Fear, conflict, and the power of love are all around her and her friends. I salute the Duffer Brothers for their courage- taking this new series in a much more adult and darker place. I want to thank them so much for bringing the song into so many people’s lives,” she continued to write in the post.

Bush rounds out her emotional tribute by expressing how she has felt watching the title track from her 1985 album “Hounds Of Love” reach so many viewers and inspire countless listeners to become fans and explore her extensive catalog further!

“I’m overwhelmed by the scale of affection and support the song is receiving and it’s all happening really fast, as if it’s being driven along by a kind of elemental force.”

Bush closes her letter her letter by sweetly saying, “I have to admit I feel really moved by it all. Thank you so very much for making the song a number one in such an unexpected way.”
