Actor Rahul Kohli gave fans an update on the upcoming Netflix horror series “The Fall of the House of Usher.”

The series ran into some filming delays when actor Frank Langella was fired from the production due to allegations of misconduct. However, he has since been replaced with Bruce Greenwood, and it looks like production is on track for a possible 2023 release.

Kohli, who had previously worked with series creator Mike Flanagan on his other horror projects for the streaming service, gave fans an update on Thursday morning.

“The Fall of the House of Usher update: This week was a lot of fun. Lots of laughter, togetherness, and smiles,” he tweeted. “You’re gonna love this series. Poe Sho.”

The series is said to be a compilation of works from horror master Edgar Allan Poe. Netflix has described the story as “an epic tale of greed, horror, and tragedy.” Many fans suspect that it will be a mash-up of his works similar to the Hulu series “Castle Rock,” which was based on many different works from horror master Stephen King. However, not much about the project has been revealed so far.

The series seems very close to being done, as co-star Kate Siegel seems to have given him an early wrap gift… by sprinkling a tray of goldfish crackers all over his chair.

“Star Wars” alum Mark Hamill has also been cast in the series, although his character has not been named. Instead, he is rumored to be “surprisingly at home in the shadows.”

Hamill will be joined by actress Carla Gugino, who has appeared in many of Flanagan’s other Netflix projects. “Major Crimes” star Mary McDonnell has been cast as Roderick’s twin sister, Madeline Usher, and “Alias” actor Carl Lumbly has been cast as detective C. Auguste Dupin. Willa Fitzgerald joined the cast on January 28.

“The Fall of the House of Usher” is the latest project created by Mike Flanagan, who is the mastermind behind Netflix horror classics such as “The Haunting of Hill House,” “The Haunting of Bly Manor” and the recent “Midnight Mass,” all of which have reached critical acclaim.

The series will last eight episodes, each of which has been written by Flanagan himself. He and long-time collaborator Michael Fimognari will each be directing four episodes.

Cast & Crew Speaks Out On Frank Langella’s Firing

Langella was supposed to play patriarch Rodrick Usher, although his role has since been recast due to misconduct allegations on set. Although Langella denied those allegations and called his firing “not American,” many cast and crew members have spoken out about their treatment on set with Deadline.

One person involved with the series claimed, “There was a general sense of toxicity that followed him around. A lot of the cast and crew were very uncomfortable around Frank from the beginning.”

Langella claimed in his op-ed that there was only one incident that led to his dismissal: when a young actress complained that he touched her long during an intimate scene that had not been vetted by an intimacy coordinator.

However, sources told Deadline that there were “more than a dozen incidents and accusations over the course of several weeks.” In his op-ed, Langella listed the accusations as he saw them, writing, “some of the allegations: 1. ‘He told an off-color joke.’ 2. ‘Sometimes he called me ‘baby’ or ‘honey.’ 3. ‘He’d give me a hug or touch my shoulder.’” Sources say that some of these comments started from the very first week on set.

One person involved in the show said, “There were issues out of the gate with very inappropriate comments, some of which were incredibly sexual in nature, others that were graphic and misogynistic.” They added that Langella’s comments were “not jokes but shocking to pretty much anyone within earshot.”
