Disney CEO Bob Chapek’s Contract Gets Renewed For 3 More Years
Bob Chapek will continue to head the Walt Disney Company!
The CEO’s contract has just been renewed by the company’s board of directors for an additional three years, THR reports.
Bob’s contract was reportedly set to expire in early 2023, and his new contract will begin July 1st and go through 2025.

“Disney was dealt a tough hand by the pandemic, yet with Bob at the helm, our businesses—from parks to streaming—not only weathered the storm, but emerged in a position of strength,” Chairman of the Board Susan Arnold said in a statement. “In this important time of growth and transformation, the Board is committed to keeping Disney on the successful path it is on today, and Bob’s leadership is key to achieving that goal. Bob is the right leader at the right time for The Walt Disney Company, and the Board has full confidence in him and his leadership team.”
Many fans have complained about Chapek’s leadership since he took over just before the pandemic in early 2020, and have called for former CEO Bob Iger to return.
“Leading this great company is the honor of a lifetime, and I am grateful to the Board for their support,” Chapek shared. “I started at Disney almost 30 years ago, and today have the privilege of leading one of the world’s greatest, most dynamic companies, bringing joy to millions around the world. I am thrilled to work alongside the incredible storytellers, employees, and cast members who make magic every day.”
Bob Chapek’s previously roles in the company include Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, and Chairman of Disney Parks and Resorts. He also led Disney Consumer Products and served as president of Distribution for The Walt Disney Studios, as well as president of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.

Amazon could soon be forced to recognize UK trade union
Amazon could soon be forced to recognize UK trade union,LONDON (Reuters) -U.S. technology and retail giant Amazon could soon be required to formally recognise the GMB trade union at its Coventry warehouse in Britain, after a government body ruled in the union's favour. GMB said in a statement on Friday that Amazon workers at the site would now vote on union recognition, and if approved, it would be the first time outside the United States that Amazon was required to bargain with a union over pay, hours and holiday. Amazon has historically opposed unionisation, but in 2022, workers at one of its New York warehouses forced the company to recognise a trade union in the U.S. for the first time.
