Actress Cara Delevingne Poses Topless For Vogue’s Pride Issue

Actress and supermodel Cara Delevingne recently went topless for British Vogue’s August Pride issue and opened up about the importance of standing up and fighting for the rights of women and trans people. She also opened up about her LGBTQ identity and shared her coming-out story.

The Vogue issue features Delevingne alongside 12 other LGBTQ creatives on its cover and discusses the major issues in the community. During her interview, Delevingne said, “It’s all of our jobs to stand up for each other.

Cara Delevingne On The Need To Speak Out

The Vogue interview was published just after the U.S supreme court decided to overturn Roe vs. Wade, the 1973 court decision that led to the legalization of abortion in America. Since then, several states have criminalized abortion, putting women and trans people at serious risk.

In her interview, Delevingne said, “Trans rights, women’s rights, they’re all human rights. This isn’t about, ‘Oh, it’s not my job because I’m not part of the community.’ It’s all of our jobs to stand up for each other.”

Delevingne isn’t the only celebrity who has spoken out publicly against the supreme court overturning the landmark decision. Celebrities such as Meghan Markle, Maya Hawke, Taraji P.Henson, Padman Lakshmi, and Keke Palmer have publicly condemned the decision.

During a video for the Vogue issue, Delevingne shared details about her coming out story and spoke about the need to see more people from the LGBTQ community represented in films and TV shows.

She said, “The importance of representation to me, in the industry and the world at large, is that people need to see people like them. Growing up, I didn’t really see many people like me, so I’m just really grateful to be able to be one of those people representing.

“I never really came out,” she continued, “It was more that I just decided that I was done with being in the closet, I was done with being ashamed for who I loved and who I was, so for me, it was more just being like, ‘Love it love, and we should be able to love who we want.’”

Cara Delevigne Is Open About Her Sexuality

The “Only Murders in the Building” actress first came out as bisexual during an interview with Vogue in 2015. She later clarified her sexuality as pansexual during a cover interview with Variety for their June 2020 issue, during which she opened up about her life experiences as a queer woman.

She told Variety, “I always will remain, I think, pansexual. However one defines themselves, whether it’s ‘they’ or ‘he’ or ‘she,’ I fall in love with the person — and that’s that. I’m attracted to the person. “I haven’t made a concrete decision about anything. Every day, I change. Every day, I’m discovering new things about myself.”

Delevingne brought some LGBTQ representation to season two of “Only Murders in the Building” as she plays an artist and love interest to actress Selena Gomez. The two women even shared an on-screen kiss in the recently released episodes of the series.

In her recent post on Instagram, Delevingne posed in a multicolor fishnet top, wearing nothing beneath except rainbow pasties. She combined the top with leather shorts, braided her hair into a ponytail with pastel pieces, and accessorized with a cute beaded rainbow choker.

The 29-year-old model captioned the post, which she made to celebrate Pride month, with, “BE PROUD, HAPPY PRIDE” and added a series of star, rainbow, and unicorn emojis. Several of her celebrity friends celebrated with her in the comment section.

Producer Mindy Kaling commented, “Omg, you’re so hot and interesting,” while makeup artist and Drag Queen Kade Gottlieb, popularly known as Gottmik, posted three heart eye emojis.
