Chucky Season 2: Glen/Glenda Needs To Return As A Human Teen
Chucky season 2 left the door wide opened for many legacy characters, and it is time for the long-anticipated Glen/Glenda to make their return

Chucky Season 2: Glen/Glenda Needs To Return As A Human Teen

Chucky season 1 sets up for many legacy characters to come back, including Glen/Glenda, who needs to return as a human teen. With Chucky renewed and season 2 set to release in late 2022, the overall consensus from hardcore fans and critics alike is that creator Don Mancini did a tremendous job of sticking to the campy feeling of the original films while also having a modern take.

The series brought in a slew of original Child’s Play characters, including Brad Dourif reprising his role as Chucky, Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany, Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay, Fiona Dourif as Nica, and Christine Elise as Andy’s foster sister Kyle. The series also left the door open for many other original characters to return to season 2; The Chucky finale sets up the return of Glen/Glenda.

Chucky is a continuation of the franchise, starting where Cult of Chucky (2017) left off. Preceding Cult of Chucky and Curse of Chucky (2013) is the cult-favorite Seed of Chucky (2004), where Chucky and Tiffany have a child named Glen who doesn’t know if they are a boy or a girl. Their parents don’t help with the matter as Chucky wants a boy and Tiffany wants a girl. Seed of Chucky ends with Jennifer Tilly giving birth to twins: a boy and a girl, signifying Tiffany successfully transferred her soul into Jennifer, and Glen/Glenda are human. Seed of Chucky was released in 2004, meaning the twins would be 18 years old in 2022. With Jake (Zackary Arthur), Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), and Devon (Björgvin Arnarson) entering high school in Chucky season 2, Glen/Glenda could easily be in high school with them, giving a perfect introduction to the duo.

Glen/Glenda are mentioned in episodes of Chucky, teasing their return. In Episode 2, “Give Me Something Good to Eat,” Chucky tells Jake he has a “queer and gender-fluid” kid. In Episode 8, “An Affair to Dismember,” Tiffany makes a comment about Glenda, saying that she has “exquisite taste” in reference to a bomb she gifted her. Both Chucky and Tiffany talk about their kids as different genders, highlighting that there are two of them; It wouldn’t make sense for Glen to return as a doll, as Seed of Chucky purposely ends with showing them as humans. The only way Glen/Glenda can return is as human teens and dangerous, killer teens at that. Aside from the show itself referencing Glen/Glenda, Creator Don Mancini teased Glen/Glenda coming back (via Fandom): “This is probably one where I’m not allowed to say too much, but I love those characters. I think it’s probably safe for me to say that you haven’t seen the last of them.

With Don Mancini and Chucky season 1 referencing Glen/Glenda, they will likely at least make a cameo in Chucky season 2. Having them return as human teenagers would be the only option that makes sense. Adding a new legacy character would appease both fans, as well as add an entirely new and exciting subplot for Jake, Lexy, and Devon. How the two would interact with Jake in High school is guaranteed to be a fun, gore-filled bloodbath.
