Carlos Santana experienced heat exhaustion and dehydration during a concert Tuesday evening in Michigan and has since recuperated, the musician’s manager Michael Vrionis confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter in a statement.

Officials told NBC’s Detroit-based news affiliate WDIV-TV that the 74-year-old guitar great collapsed onstage at Pine Knob Music Theatre (formerly DTE Energy Music Theatre), an outdoor amphitheater in Clarkston, some 40 miles northwest of Detroit. According to WDIV-TV, medical personnel took to the stage around 10 p.m. local time to attend to Santana, and officials said he continued to receive medical attention.

Roop Raj, evening anchor and reporter at Fox2 Detroit, posted a photo of what appears to be Santana receiving medical attention onstage. “Medical personnel on stage. Crowd asked to pray for him because of a ‘serious medical’ issue,” Raj tweeted.

A short time later, social media users shared footage from the concert that appeared to show Santana waving to the crowd while being wheeled off the stage in a stretcher. WDIV-TV confirmed that Santana indeed regained consciousness after collapsing, although the show did not continue after that point.

Santana was taken to the emergency department at nearby McLaren Clarkston facility for observation and has been feeling better, Vrionis said in a statement. “The show for tomorrow July 6th at The Pavilion at Star Lake (formerly the S&T Bank Music Park) in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, will be postponed to a later date,” Santana’s manager added.
