Disney's Massive SDCC 2022 Plans Confirmed: 18 TV Show Panels

It is now confirmed that Disney-owned properties and platforms will host 18 TV show panels at the upcoming 2022 San Diego Comic-Con. SDCC is an annual comic book convention and multi-genre entertainment event held since 1970. It’s a four-day event that has been taking place over a July weekend since 2003. In 2020, the event was canceled for the first time since its start due to the pandemic, but it is on for 2022. It will take place in San Diego from July 21 through 24. It will undoubtedly be an exciting event, with its own limited-edition chocolate bars for the 2022 SDCC.

For many years now, Disney has had a massive presence at Comic-Con. Their properties, platforms, and studios include Marvel, Twentieth-Century Fox, ABC, and Star Wars. They are enormous draws for many fans, who show up in droves to support their favorite shows, movies, and actors, packing the conference halls and convention center for the chance to get autographs and ask questions. Since 2010, the San Diego Convention Center has been filled with more than 130,000 people attending the event.

Deadline now reveals the schedule for Disney’s TV show properties at SDCC. The weekend is full of Disney panels occurring throughout the day on each of the event’s four days. Nathan Fillion and Niecy Nash-Betts are kicking things off in their panel discussing ABC’s show The Rookie and its spinoff, The Rookie: Feds. Following that panel, the newly beloved series Abbott Elementary and the much-anticipated recently named National Treasure spinoff show National Treasure: Edge of History also get dedicated discussions and special guests. Also featured are panels for TV classics The Simpsons, American Dad and Family Guy, and Disney Channel’s new show Hamster & Gretel. Additionally, Marvel’s new animated series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur will hopefully show some new footage from the highly-anticipated series.
