Ms. Marvel Red Dagger Wants MCU Crossover With Deadpool & Moon Knight

Ms. Marvel star Aramis Knight, who plays Kareem, a.k.a. Red Dagger, in the Disney+ series, wants to do MCU crossovers with Deadpool and Moon Knight in the future. In the last two years, Marvel Studios have been wasting no time fleshing out the larger MCU after Avengers: Endgame served as the end of an era. While long-time members of the Avengers are going away, some are still sticking around and getting further developed as characters. But Marvel Studios is also taking the opportunity to add in the next generation of heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe, both on the big screen and on Disney+

Throughout 2022, Marvel Studios have launched multiple new shows on Disney+, including Moon Knight and, now recently, Ms. Marvel. Starring Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, Ms. Marvel revolves around the titular heroine living her life in New Jersey before discovering she has her own superpowers. The Disney+ drama will pave the way for Vellani’s character to eventually join forces with Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau in the sequel The Marvels, which will be hitting theaters in 2023. While Ms. Marvel is exploring Kamala’s heroic arc, the show also recently introduced one of her heroic allies from the comics, Kareem, a.k.a. Red Dagger, played by Aramis Knight.

While Ms. Marvel season 1 recently wrapped up Red Dagger’s arc, Knight is in for the long haul, now being one of the MCU’s recent additions. In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Knight was asked which heroes in the MCU he would love to do a crossover with, given how many exist at this point. Knight had not one but two dream heroes he would love to see Kareem join forces with, one of them being Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight. In addition to that, Knight is also hoping for a potential crossover with Deadpool, with Ryan Reynolds’ character set to join the MCU in the coming years, sharing the following:

Screen Rant: Given how many heroes are in the MCU,  do you have like a wish list of characters that you hope to interact with, whether it’s on future Disney+ shows or in other movies?

Aramis Knight: I think Red Dagger and Deadpool would be really good.

Screen Rant: It would be kind of hilarious.

Knight: Yeah, I think there would just be a lot there for us to work with. And then selfishly, I’d love to meet up with Moon Knight, just because…Oscar Isaac.

Screen Rant: Yeah, just Oscar Isaac, because it speaks for itself! Hopefully, you get that Deadpool crossover.

Knight: Hell yeah!

Screen Rant: Because just seeing him with kids or teenagers, it’s just hilarious!

Knight: Yeah, Red Dagger and Deadpool would be a really interesting, duo.

Screen Rant: Well, Kevin Feige if he’s watching, hopefully, we’ll make it happen.

Knight: Oh do it, Mr. Feige!

While Moon Knight premiered before Ms. Marvel, it is so far unclear what is next for Isaac’s character within the MCU. Currently, the actor is not under contract to appear in any further MCU projects, whether it be films or TV shows. In Deadpool’s case, Marvel Studios is developing Deadpool 3 with the intention of having Wade Wilson join the MCU after being set up in FOX’s now-dead X-Men cinematic universe. Reynolds is officially attached to reprise the Merc with a Mouth, with Free Guy director Shawn Levy set to helm the R-rated film. While it’s also unknown if Ms. Marvel will get a season 2, it wouldn’t stop Red Dagger from appearing in Deadpool 3 or in a different MCU project alongside Reynolds’ character.

Whether Kareem would team up with Moon Knight or Deadpool, either one would be intriguing options. In Moon Knight’s case, Red Dagger would, to some degree, mesh well with the fellow gritty hero, as Isaac’s Disney+ show had a different tone than the other MCU series. On the other hand, having the Ms. Marvel hero somehow come into contact with Deadpool would potentially be a hilarious alternative as well, especially after Wade has teamed up with or fought other powerful teenagers in both his first film and in Deadpool 2. Given that Red Dagger just arrived in the MCU, it’s likely Knight’s character will be seen in potential future seasons of Ms. Marvel or other MCU projects to get further developed before meeting someone like Deadpool or Moon Knight.
