Tom Hiddleston confirms engagement to Zawe Ashton while doing press for The Essex Serpent and it's also been rumoured since the BAFTAs that they are expecting their first child together
There’s been speculation that Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton are engaged and expecting their first child together ever since the BAFTAs in March.
Most people assumed it was true, there were not subsequent denials issued, but it wasn’t official until today. Tom has been doing press for The Essex Serpent which premieres on Apple on Friday. During an interview this morning, he confirmed part of it – by thanking the person who congratulated him on his engagement.

Zawe’s been seen wearing an engagement ring on her finger so this isn’t big breaking news but it is the first time Tom’s acknowledged it, although he hasn’t yet publicly talked about the pregnancy or any related timelines. We do know, however, about his schedule, at least professionally.
Loki season two will reportedly start shooting in London the first week of June. Filming on the first season took three months or so and it’s expected the season second will be around the same which means they should wrap by September… in time for the birth of their baby?
