A few years ago, I heard the scary statistic that your phone carries 18 times more bacteria than a public toilet — and it was frightening. I was tempted to start wiping mine down with a sanitizing wipe, but that can actually be damaging to your device. Then a friend recommended I try a UV light sanitizer for my phone. At the time, it seemed like a weird new concept, but I bought the Phonesoap Smartphone UV Sanitizer ($56, originally $80), and now, it’s something I use all the time.
