Primal Season 2 Video Shows Spear Desperately Searching for Mira
A preview for season 2 of Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal shows Spear desperately searching for Mira. The animated fantasy adventure series premiered on Adult Swim back in 2019 and centers on the bond between a formidable caveman and a Tyrannosaurus – named Spear and Fang respectively – who fight to survive the dangers that exist within their prehistoric landscape. After garnering praise from fans and critics for its style and visual storytelling, Primal was renewed for a season 2, set to debut on July 22, 2022. In its last episode, Spear saves the fleeing Mira from a predator. She later befriends the unlikely pair, explaining to them how her people were enslaved by intruders, but the season ends with her getting kidnapped as Spear and Fang are unable to help.
Now, Adult Swim has revealed a sneak peek at the first episode of season 2 that shows Spear’s search for the young woman. Shouting Mira’s name, he jumps into the ocean in an attempt to chase her captors as Fang looks on, but ultimately exhausts himself and washes back to shore. Check out the new clip from Primal season 2 below:
Fans of the series have even more to look forward to in addition to the upcoming season as Adult Swim heads to San Diego Comic-Con with a Primal panel set to take place. Not only does this indicate the network’s confidence in the show, but it also gives it the traction to potentially interest new audiences. Those who enjoy the series can look forward to an exciting season 2 when Primal returns to Adult Swim later this month.
