Fullmetal Alchemist Live-Action Sequel Trailer Reveals Release Date

Netflix releases a new Fullmetal Alchemist: The Revenge of Scar / The Final Alchemy trailer. The films are based on the Fullmetal Alchemist manga, which has been adapted into many anime series, video games, and movies since its debut in 2003. The Revenge of Scar and The Final Alchemy act as a two-part sequel to 2017’s live-action Fullmetal Alchemist movie, and together they will wrap up the story of the original manga.

Netflix Asia has now released an English sub of the trailer for Fullmetal Alchemist: The Revenge of Scar / The Final Alchemy. Like the 2017 film, The Revenge of Scar and The Final Alchemy are live-action. The trailer reveals that these films will focus on the Elric brothers, Ed and Al, as they discover that a serial killer is targeting State Alchemists. While they don’t know the killer’s real name, they call him “Scar” because of the X-shaped scar on his forehead. The Elric brothers must work together to protect themselves and the rest of the alchemists.

The Revenge of Scar will bring back Ryosuke Yamada, Atomu Mizuishi, Tsubasa Honda, and Dean Fujioka to its cast, who played Ed, Al, Winry, and Roy in the first film, respectively. The film also stars Misako Renbutsu, Kanata Hongo, Yuina Kuroshima, Keisuke Watanabe, and Kokoro Terada. Fullmetal Alchemist: The Revenge of Scar will premiere on Netflix on Saturday, August 20th, and its follow-up, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Alchemy, will release on Saturday, September 24th.
