Thor: Love and Thunder has been in theaters now for two weeks, so it’s time to talk about Brett Goldstein’s cameo as Hercules!

The beloved Ted Lasso actor appears briefly in the mid-credits scene as the superhero Hercules in a quick moment with the character’s father Zeus, played by Russell Crowe.

While chatting with press, Brett talked about sending his parents to see Thor in theaters without telling them about his cameo.

“I didn’t tell anyone,” Brett told Entertainment Weekly. “I didn’t tell my family. They put a chip in me that would explode if I f—ing spoke about it. It was terrifying.”

“I sent them a text saying, ‘I’ve just seen Thor! It’s really good! I think you’d enjoy it. You should go,'” Brett said. “They went, and my mum kept texting me during the film. I’ve always said to her, ‘Don’t f—ing text during the film!’ She’s texting me, ‘This is funny!’ I’m like, ‘Stop texting and watch the f—ing film!'”

Brett revealed that his mom was texting during the credits and almost missed his moment.

“It gets to the end, and like 10 seconds before I’m on, she’s texting me, ‘Russell Crowe’s back on, he’s funny!’ And I went, ‘Look up at the f—ing screen!’ I’m like, if she misses this, she’s going to walk out and go, ‘Well, I enjoyed the film. I don’t know why you sent us,'” he joked.

Brett said his parents are thrilled. He added, “My dad keeps calling himself Zeus, so that’s an issue.”

Ted Lasso’s Hannah Waddingham revealed to Variety that Brett confided in him about his cameo, but never told her he actually filmed the role.

“He said to me, ‘I’ve been offered this thing… Do you guys think I should do it?’” Hannah said. “I went, ‘Are you mental? Are you actually having a little bit of a moment? You’re seriously thinking that you might not play Hercules?’… Then he didn’t tell me he bloody did it! So everyone was like ‘Brett Goldstein! Brett Goldstein!’ And I was like, ‘You cheeky bastard.’”

The film’s director recently provided some insight into how the cameo happened.
