Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Update Adjusts Sticks and Stones, Fixes Issues

Games News || Games News:

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War recently got a huge update to kick off its Season 3 that brought new maps, operators, weapons, and the return of fan-favorite game mode Sticks and Stones. As players were having issues with Sticks and Stones, developer Treyarch has announced that the next patch for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be making some adjustments.

Sticks and Stones is a mode that started in Call of Duty: Black Ops which gives players a loadout consisting of tomahawks, crossbows, and ballistic knives. The mode was not available in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War until Season 3 added the ballistic knife weapon.

The newest patch from Treyarch will fix two issues that have been popping up frequently in Sticks and Stones matches. First, the patch will fix an issue where tomahawk kills were awarding players 100 points instead of the 50 points that were displayed on screen. Second, the patch will make finishing moves count as melee kills as they were intended. The patch also brings multiple other fixes, although it does not mention the issues some Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players were having with missing text in new Season 3 content.

In our latest #BlackOpsColdWar update:

• Sticks and Stones updates
• Ballistic Knife removed from Snipers only Moshpit
• Beck Operator Mission fix
• Zombies scoreboard fixes
• Outbreak stability fix
• Bug fixes + more

The majority of fixes brought by the patch are focused on Zombies mode. The patch will fix the display of the Zombies mode scoreboard at the end of matches so players are able to inspect others from the scoreboard, the downs column will display correctly, values will no longer be displayed as negative, and more. The patch also fixes an issue with Beck's operator mission that saw it not tracking progress correctly. Hopefully the fixes will address the issues well so players can get back to enjoying all of the new content coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War with Season 3.

While Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players have voiced other concerns not addressed in this patch, it is commendable how quickly Treyarch turned this around to address these issues. With all of the new content coming throughout Season 3 players should have plenty to look forward to with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and now is also a great time for any new players who are curious about the game to give it a try.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
