England camp gave Sven-Goran Eriksson ‘lots of stick’ over Ulrika Jonsson affair
Sven-Goran Eriksson was allegedly given 'lots of stick' by the England camp over his affair with Ulrika Jonsson ahead of the 2002 World Cup.
The Three Lions were gearing up to participate in the tournament held in South Korea and Japan when details of the nation's boss Sven's affair with TV host Jonsson were made public by the Daily Mirror.
The Swedish pair hit it off after being introduced by GMB host and former politician Alastair Campbell over two decades ago.

Despite being in a relationship with Italian lawyer Nancy Dell'Olio at the time, Eriksson and Jonsson proceeded to enter a steamy affair after getting close over regular dinner dates. But their passionate encounters soon ceased when Ulkrika allegedly gave Sven an ultimatum to leave Nancy – a claim she vehemently denies.
Decades after the affair, Ulrika said sex with Sven was as "exciting as assembling an IKEA bookcase." And it now it's emerged that Sven also go flak from his England troops for his extracurricular activities.
According to former WAG and model Lizzie Cundy, Sven was ribbed about the affair by the Three Lions squad.
The wife of ex-footballer Jason Cundy said on Channel 5 documentary 'Scandal!: When Sven Scored with Ulrika' detailing the affair: "I've heard about some of the banter Sven got in the dressing room… the team was giving him lots of stick."

But Sven's affair with Ulrika and the stick from players weren't the only issue giving him a headache going into the World Cup.
Just before the tournament started, England's captain David Beckham was injured and there were fears that he wouldn't be fit in time for the competition's start. But Beckham managed to recover from the metatarsal injury and helped the Three Lions reach the quarter-finals before Brazil knocked them out.
England, now led by Gareth Southgate, will be looking to get further than Sven's side did in 2002 during the current World Cup held in Qatar, and judging by their impressive group stage performances, rounded off by a 3-0 win over Wales on Tuesday night, the Three Lions will fancy their chances of doing so.
