Kylian Mbappe hits out at PSG video and insists ‘it’s not Kylian Saint-Germain’
Kylian Mbappe has blasted Paris Saint-Germain for a video urging fans of the club to renew their season tickets.
The world’s most expensive player features heavily in the promotion video which sees him talk about his passion for the Parisian club. Intriguingly, the promo doesn’t feature fellow star forwards Lionel Messi and Neymar, who have been linked with moves away from the club this summer.
Mbappe has taken to social media to complain about his prominent role in the campaign, saying he was misled over how an interview would be used. He also declared the club isn’t called ‘Kylian Saint-Germain’.

The statement, issued on the World Cup winner’s social media channels, read: “I have just taken part in the viewing of the club's renewal campaign for the 23/24 season.
“At no time was I informed of the content of the interview with my interlocutor. It looked like a basic interview at a club marketing day. I disagree with this posted video.
“That's why I fight for individual image rights. PSG is a big club and a big family, but it is certainly not Kylian Saint-Germain. Cordially.”

In the offending video, Mbappe said: "The environment, the terrain, the atmosphere… The Parc des Princes involves many things, it is the 12th man, it is what gives us additional strength to fight our battles.
"To be Parisian is to be proud of who you are, of what you represent, proud of being ambitious, of wanting to do things, of wanting to win, of always improving yourself and never forgetting where we come from.
"I am also speaking on behalf of all the players, of the entire club, of those who have not been able to come, to show you how important you are to us.
"Unfortunately, we can't always manifest it. We'd like to do more, we can always do more , but here it is. It's not us with you, it's all together.
“I know this year hasn't been the best of years. We didn't meet the expectations of the club, yours and ours too. We all want to continue together to finish the season well, win the championship…"
