Hollywood icon Anthony Hopkins and Matthew Goode have been spotted filming for their upcoming movie Freud’s Last Session.

The award-winning actors were seen filming the final scenes of the psychological thriller which explores the relationship between Sigmund Freud, played by the Oscar-winning actor, and author C.S Lewis, portrayed by Goode.

It is understood the film will see the pair debate the existence of God during the final years of the doctor’s life on the eve of the Second World War.

Interweaving past, present and fantasy, the film will delve into the unique relationship Freud had with his daughter anna (played by Liv Lisa Fries) and The Chronicles of Narnia author’s relationship with his best friend’s mother.

    He finished off the look with a brown fedora hat which the expert was rarely seen without during the peak of his fame.

    The Downton Abbey star could be seen looking as smart as ever as he rocked a navy-blue suit which he paired with a white button-down shirt and a burgundy tie.

    It comes after the actor celebrated his 47th year of sobriety in a sweet video he posted to his loyal legion of fans on Instagram.

    Reflecting on his battle with drink in the past, Sir Anthony confessed he probably wouldn’t have had “long to live” if he continued to abuse alcohol as much as he did in his youth.

    He explained: “I just had to acknowledge one day that there was something really wrong with me.

    “I didn’t realise that it was a kind of condition – mental, physical, emotional condition called alcoholism or addiction.”

    The legendary actor advised: “If you need help with any addiction or problem, talk to someone.

    "Talk to someone you respect, whether it’s a counsellor or to go to a 12-step programme. It will give you a whole new life.”
