There may be a slightly awkward atmosphere when Brandon Miller speaks to Michael Jordan.

Miller was drafted to the Charlotte Hornets at the NBA Draft, Jordan’s franchise making good use of their second pick honour by bringing the 20-year-old to the Hornets. He will likely find himself working very closely with Jordan, despite the fact the six-time NBA champion is expected to sell his shares in the Hornets.

His interactions with the legendary 60-year-old inevitably led to some conversations about the typical NBA debate – Jordan or LeBron James.

However, Miller, interestingly, decided to go with none of the above.

“I actually don’t think LeBron is the GOAT (greatest of all time) of basketball,” he said to BallySports, when asked if he felt James or Jordan were the . “My GOAT of basketball was Paul George.

“I grew up watching him. I think he edged LeBronn.” Shortly after he aired his opinion, he found himself in the same vicinity as Jordan. Fortunately, the basketball great still has his sense of humour, even poking fun at Miller himself.

“It was exciting to meet him.” He also added, “it’s definitely cool meeting him. He definitely sounds like how he sounds on TV, always trash-talking.

“I just really had a fun time with him. He told me I was just a shooter, just shooting threes. So I mean I’m not gonna believe that, I know my talents and my abilities.

“Can’t really let Jordan get in your head.” Miller is one of the brightest prospects in the NBA having been named in the First Team AP All-America, the Southeastern Conference Player of the Year and the NABC Freshman of the Year this season.

He also averaged 18.8 pts per game in the SEC and was amongst the highest scorers nationally.
