This Morning hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary will also be interviewed along with Phil's former co-host Holly Willoughby.

It is understood that Jane Mulcahy KC is leading the independent inquiry for ITV which was ordered by ITV boss Carolyn McCall after Phillip admitted lying to cover up his affair.

The 61-year-old and his former lover are also expected to be quizzed at length about their on-off relationship which started in 2017.

It is expected that the report's findings won’t be published until this winter, according to sources, with the investigation set to begin later this month.

Dame Carolyn said the TV star had been quizzed over the workplace rumours but admitted she dailed to launch a formal investigation.

She went on to brand the relationship “deeply inappropriate” and said only “ongoing reviews” were held. None of them established the full extent of the facts, she added.

She told the Culture, Media and Sport Committee she first became aware of a rumour about the relationship in December 2019, two years after she joined ITV.
