A Polish Football Manager addict has sent a new Guinness World Record for the longest-ever save on the game.

Paweł Siciński started his Football Manager save back in January 2018 and has racked up an incredible game time of 453 days and 15 hours on the popular football game.

This time has amounted to 528 years and 137 days of in-game time, seeing him play 25,084 matches.

Siciński also boasts an impressive 73 per cent win rate – seeing only Pep Guardiola’s 73.6 per cent league win rate at Manchester City better him amongst all-time Premier League managers.

The Pole told UPI that the longest stretch of his in-game managerial journey has been spent with Iceland side Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar who he managed from 2114 until 2434.

Siciński said: "My biggest achievement was leading them to 301 national championships, 677 cups and victories in the Champions League, Europa League and Club World Cup.

"I love lesser-known leagues and I've been interested in this league since I was a kid, plus achieving success with a practically unknown club brings so much joy and satisfaction."

Siciński’s monster save eclipsed the previous record-breaker, German Sepp Hedel, who played a real-world time of 81 days and 20 hours – 333 years in-game – which now looks rookie next to the Pole’s number.

Football Manager’s popularity and place within professional football continues to grow after Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney admitted that he uses FM scouts to find future world beaters as D.C United boss.

Rooney told The Times: "A lot of the market is South America and we’ve done a deal with Football Manager, where we give them some advertising and they give us access to the scouts — 11 or 12 of them — they use in different places across the world to help them create the game.”
