The View star Whoopi Goldberg has finally revealed the meaning behind her stage name and explained how an unexpected person chose it especially for her.
The 67-year-old star, who was born Caryn Johnson, explained in a recent interview that her stage name came from being a "champion farter"
Whoopi appeared as a guest on Raven-Symoné and Miranda Maday’s podcast and explained the reason behind her quirky name further.

She said: “It came from me being a champion farter.” Raven laughed and said: “That’s why I love her so much!”
Miranda, slightly confused, asked if that’s “really” how the name came to be.
