Research has revealed the UK's eclectic tastes when it comes to where they are buying their food – with Tesco named as the supermarket where the most money is spent, while Deliveroo is the most popular delivery service.

A national study has revealed a regional breakdown of spending habits when it comes to food – with Sainsbury's and Pret-A-Manger among the preferred choices in the south, while Northerners are more likely to frequent Iceland, Asda, Greggs, or Burger King.

And when it comes to treating yourself to a takeaway, one delivery app dominates in most of the country – Deliveroo.

The food delivery service is the most popular choice in London, the East of England, East Midlands, the North West, the South East, and the South West.

Those in the Scotland, Northern Ireland, the North East, and Yorkshire and the Humber, will turn to Just Eat, while Wales and the West Midlands prefer to order off Uber Eats.

And respondents in the capital city will typically do their shopping at Waitrose, and pop into Pret-A-Manger for a bit of fast food, or Pizza Express for a sit-down meal.
